Some detours due to road works brought me to Himmelreich, before I came to Hannover for some sightseeing, science, parcs, places. And continued for a lunch break in Hildesheim, Dom, St. Andreas, etc. A last leg to Goslar to be in a pole position for a double feature tomorrow: Brocken and Wurmberg. Brocken Was already visible from afar today.
The mountain in Friedehorstpark was not marked, I relied on GPS and experiences from the Himalaya. Cycled through Bremen city center and saw the 4 Bremer Stadtmusikanten and Roland before I continued south to a campsite close to the Weser in Drakenburg. 7 Euros per night, lessons learned by A.W. from A. A late start in Bad Segeberg, I had to return the key for the showers and they did not open the office until 8am. I had to look for a cycle shop in Hamburg anyway and they tend to be open only after 10am, so everything on schedule. The ball bearings in the hub in the back wheel were nor smooth anymore and I decided to replace the wheel and leave the old rim (25000km) behind, but take the hub with me home for a service, it is an ancient XTR hub. Along Aussenalster to the city center and St Pauli Landungsbrücken and south through the tunnel below the harbour, never done that with the big elevator. Hasselbrock was a 2.2Km walk one way and only forrest up there, no view. Continued to a camp site in Sauensiek where they breew the world famous Sauensieker Landbier.
Via Wismar, Travemünde, Timmendorfer Strand, Hampton Beach etc. to Bungsberg (168m), all the way per bike, even a coffee shop is closeby. Malente, Seeenplatte of Holsteinische Schweiz and my place to rest is tonight Bad Segeberg. Another important place for Karl May, Winnetou and Old Shatterhand...
